Sipp Sparkling Organics Announces Partnership with Dreaming Zebra Foundation
EXTON, Pa. (September 2018) – Sipp Sparkling Organics is excited to announce its official partnership with The Dreaming Zebra Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization which encourages children to embrace their individuality, express themselves creatively, and follow their artistic dreams.
“The Dreaming Zebra Foundation aligns with everything Sipp stands for as a brand,” says Brenda Lubragge, Director of Marketing at Sipp Sparkling Organics. “You’ll see in our new packaging that all of our fruits and herbs are meticulously hand painted by an artist local to Sipp HQ, Gia Bertone. We decided to move in this direction with our packaging because we appreciate real, handcrafted artwork similar to the way we appreciate the real, organic ingredients in our beverages.” She added, “With our current rebranding efforts, we are focusing on the beauty and the importance of art, in addition to living and breathing our motto ‘Make a Change, One Sipp at a Time.’”
‘Making a change’ can mean many things to many people, but to Sipp Sparkling Organics, it means making the decision to live a healthier lifestyle, and also making a change in your respective communities. By partnering with The Dreaming Zebra Foundation, Sipp hopes to make a positive change by helping the foundation provide art and music supplies to underprivileged children throughout the world.
Dawne Camera, Founder and Executive Director of The Dreaming Zebra Foundation states, “We're delighted to partner with Sipp to provide opportunities for children to experience the arts by ensuring they have access to the supplies and materials they need for self-expression. Sipp's generosity allows us to extend both our national reach and impact, and to fund a diverse array of arts education and art therapy initiatives for underprivileged youth. Like Sipp, Dreaming Zebra is dedicated to delivering quality to the programs we support in this partnership."
There are a variety of different ways you can help support Dreaming Zebra. In addition to monetary donations, the foundation makes it easy for you to establish a donation center in your home or business, host an art or music supply drive, sponsor an artist or classroom, or simply just volunteer your time. All donations are tax deductible and support art and music education for disadvantaged youth.

The Dreaming Zebra® Foundation and Blick announce a new initiative to help the students of Flint, Michigan
The Dreaming Zebra® Foundation and Blick Art Materials are joining forces to bring art materials to the classrooms of the Flint Community Schools. Although the water crisis has rightly absorbed much of the government and press attention in Flint, day-to-day problems persist in the city, especially in its schools. One of the most pressing—and one that can be solved directly—is the lack of art materials in Flint classrooms.
"The materials that we have are so old and brittle that they crumble in our hands,” Flint teaching artist Melissa Leaym-Fernandez told us. “There is no paint or paper, few pencils, no ceramics, and no funds to service kilns or buy art supplies. I have seen what happens when creative connections are made, and light sparks in the eye of a student who has had a real life arts success. It is a powerful and moving moment. This can change lives forever. The arts have that kind of power and I have seen this power at work in my classroom."
“Our goal is to reach those children who have the least materially, and who need our help the most,” says Dreaming Zebra® Executive Director Dawne Camera. “Empowering self-expression, the healing power of the arts, and creativity for youth improves graduation rates, builds student confidence, and enhances overall academic performance. Flint students are in profound need, and since our first donation to the program in 2014, we have seen the inspiration, impact and creativity of the students blossom when they are given basic materials to support art education.”
The art supplies will be used at elementary and high schools that offer visual arts programming in the district. Supplies going to these schools will be used by classroom certified art teachers and a professional teaching artist
• Donate art supplies for Flint students at the following Blick Art Materials store locations in Michigan from 4/20/16 to 5/18/16.
Flint Art Program Facts
• 5,800 students in 11 Flint Community Schools
• None of the Elementary Schools have a full-time visual arts teacher
• The average budget for Flint Students is less than $.75 per child, per year.
• No teacher receives more than $225 a year for art supplies.
To increase the average budget per child per year from $0.75 to a minimal $5 per child per year. $20 per child per year would be a more appropriate number to allow for a full range of art activities and experiences.
• Your generous gift will transform the lives of children in Flint!
• Your kindness will support spontaneous creativity in the classroom.
• You donation will allow teachers to develop engaging, real art lessons.
• You'll help children find methods to change their lives & work through trials.
• You'll receive a personal thank you from the kids.

Meet the Kids: Art Day Celebration 2015
Dreaming Zebra® is pleased to announce our new partnership with World Class Flowers, a unique campaign to fund art and music supplies through the sales of flower bouquets.
Five sixth-grade students at Maple Grove School will see their still-life paintings on display in national retail stores soon. We invited Maple Grove sixth-graders to create still-life paintings of flower arrangements under the guidance of art teacher Cassondra Tinsley. Students studied still-life paintings and looked at real flower bouquets, then designed their own floral arrangements in vases. Each sixth grader in Ms. Tinsley’s art class created an original painting, and their artworks were sent to World Class Flowers for consideration.
World Class Flowers introduced Dreaming Zebra® Bouquets at the 2015 International Floriculture Expo in Chicago to enthusiastic attendees. The Expo is the leading trade show and educational program for mass market retailers, retail florists, designers, garden centers and nurseries, event floral designers and other retailers of floral and foliage products. This is where the floral industry meets and grows.

Dreaming Zebra® bouquets will be in more stores near you soon. Check back for new dates and locations!
Thanks to the generous support of our friends at Art Collective, Dreaming Zebra® is happy to provide art supplies to Art Beyond Borders-Costa Rica 2014; the trip is an annual volunteer mission led by Atlanta's nonprofit drawchange.org.
Drawchange has a six-year commitment to the children of Fatima School in Cartago, Costa Rica. 2014 will be their 5th year traveling as an organization to bring love, hope, and art to the Diques community. These are children who live in poverty without basic amenities, such as electricity, that many of us are accustomed to in our own lives. It's an honor to be a part of delivering art supplies to these children for the coming school year!
Stay tuned for plenty of photos from the journey!

We're proud to announce our new partnership with The Grace Project, a charitable arts education outreach program serving the community of Vancouver, WA. GRACE acts as a creative outlet for at-risk, underserved, and homeless youth ages 1-21 by providing workshops, facilitated art times, and art shows for the purpose of building confidence and encouraging self-discovery.
The GRACE (Grass Roots Art for Creative Empowerment) Project evolved over several years of considering the needs of youth in the community. "The Grace Project has been developed because art has enriched my life," says founder & professional photographer Anni Becker, "and because I have experienced the impact it has on youth and adults." Research indicates that creative expression can build confidence, strengthen self-esteem, improve group participation, and build skills. GRACE is committed to these outcomes.
With art materials provided by DZF and local businesses, GRACE connects local artists with at-risk youth who seek opportunities for creative expression & are interested in learning how to produce art. Primary activities will include art workshops led by local artists and poets, the creation of a zine, art shows in local galleries, and access to a variety of visual art projects including collage, painting and drawing.

|Join us in celebrating! You may have heard the inspiring news that the U.S. House of Representatives recently passed a resolution designating the second week of September as Arts in Education Week to promote and showcase the immense role arts education has in producing engaged, successful, and college-and career-ready students. The resolution states:
Arts education, comprising a rich array of disciplines including dance, music, theatre, media arts, literature, design, and visual arts, is a core academic subject and an essential element of a complete and balanced education for all students.
This resolution is the first Congressional expression of support celebrating all of the arts education disciplines - dance, music, theater and visual arts, and seeks to support the attributes of arts education that are recognized as instrumental to developing a well-rounded education such as creativity, imagination, and cross-cultural understanding.
A Few Great Ways to Support Arts Education This Week:
- Donate art supplies. Pick up a tube of acrylic paint, the most-needed art supply for children and young adults. $3-5 average cost. Send your supplies in to Dreaming Zebra®, or visit our Blick ArtRoom Aid List to order online, and we'll we'll deliver your donations with hands-on impact to students in need today.
- Make a contribution to ship art supplies to a school in need, or repair a band instrument. Your $25-100 donation enables the shipment of critical art supplies to worthy students in underserved areas, and/or helps to repair band instruments for young musicians who might otherwise not experience music education in 2010.
- Volunteer. Initiate an art supply or fundraising drive in your home or business.
- Get Creative. Getting involved means getting inspired, and engaging our creative dreams. Unleash your artistic impulses this week in celebration of what Arts Education means to you and it's vital role in the educational system and in our community. Make art.
- Commit to An Act of Giving. Take an action that you feel is a commitment to Arts Education; however big or small. Follow your muses, and do something that you connect with personally to support the cause.
We look forward to enjoying a National Arts Education Week 2010 that not only galvanizes Arts Education awareness, but also inspires arts and culture supporters across the nation to get involved and lend a helping hand, whether it be by donating a paintbrush, contributing to a worthy local arts group, or enjoying special time creating art for the sake of creating art. This is a week to give to Arts Education, and we thank you for supporting the Dreaming Zebra® Foundation.
|Meet Georgia’s McNair Middle School band ‑ so underfunded its members make do with partial, even imaginary instruments
For the McNair Middle School Band, the help of DZF and its supporters would be music to the ears of 100 deserving 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. This Title 1 school, located in one of the poorest parts of inner-city Decatur, Georgia, provides no annual budget for the school band, leaving over 1/3 of the band members without access to instruments. Instructor Thomas Russell has devised ingenious strategies for getting instruments to the McNair Band’s poorest members, but some are still left behind. Russell says that many children learn on broken instruments or pieces of instruments, while in one class the members of the clarinet and trombone sections learn to play by pretending to hold their instruments and trying to keep up with the rest of the band.
Russell has witnessed the steady decline of the community around McNair: “Years ago most of the students with economically stable families moved out to the area to form new schools on the rim of the county, leaving our area with many students in need.” He adds that the band and music education classes offer kids a chance to use their energy and creativity constructively, but “ I fear their dedication will diminish as it has for many other students because their desire to play an instrument is going unanswered.”
While DZF receives many heartrending requests from schools and other organizations, and has the privilege to help many of them, this request stands out. Russell estimates that $100,000 is needed to provide a proper stock of instruments for the band, but an initial grant of $4000 would serve to repair the band’s existing instruments so they could be played again, and be a wonderful step in the right direction.

|These smiling faces are just a few of the reasons why we are proud to support the theater program at Dominion Middle School - here we see simple materials such as felt and fabrics recycled by members of the community, and transformed into amazing costumes to help the kids get "Seussical!"
Dr. Seuss believes in helping a friend, in not giving up, and in keeping a promise. He believes in the value and dignity of others, in working to preserve the fragile sweetness of the natural world, and he believes that peace is the ultimate ideal, among nations and in every heart. He also believes in the pure power of the imagination. You will find all these serious concerns at the heart of "Seussical." What a fantastic message, and a great production! Congratulations Dominion!
