We're proud to announce our new partnership with The Grace Project, a charitable arts education outreach program serving the community of Vancouver, WA. GRACE acts as a creative outlet for at-risk, underserved, and homeless youth ages 1-21 by providing workshops, facilitated art times, and art shows for the purpose of building confidence and encouraging self-discovery.

The GRACE (Grass Roots Art for Creative Empowerment) Project evolved over several years of considering the needs of youth in the community. "The Grace Project has been developed because art has enriched my life," says founder & professional photographer Anni Becker, "and because I have experienced the impact it has on youth and adults." Research indicates that creative expression can build confidence, strengthen self-esteem, improve group participation, and build skills. GRACE is committed to these outcomes.

GRACE recently provided a five-week series for residents at Open Family House Shelter, and will be teaching stained glass art, poetry and creative journaling in two more local teen shelters, Yellow Brick Road & Vida's Ark.

With art materials provided by DZF and local businesses, GRACE connects local artists with at-risk youth who seek opportunities for creative expression & are interested in learning how to produce art. Primary activities will include art workshops led by local artists and poets, the creation of a zine, art shows in local galleries, and access to a variety of visual art projects including collage, painting and drawing.
